For the Project Management department in Leiderdorp, we are looking for a Project Manager.

The job:

In this role you are responsible for the logistic management of developing new chemicals (projects) into safe and effective medicines. This involves all activities within all phases of development, from animal toxicology up to European registration and launch, both in the context of life cycle management and novel global development. Activities include budget control and timeline management (using project management tools) sticking to a critical time path. The latter implies quality control, global alignment and contingency plans to be managed as well. Key to Astellas is a proactive, concise and respectful communication style that works in European as well as in African, Australasian and American cultures. Frequent contacts with Japanese and North American colleagues will be required.

Your personal qualifications:

• Bachelors degree with an advanced degree (PhD or PharmD) preferable
• Minimum of 6 years experience in drug development in pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceuticals, or biotechnology
• Management experience including line/project management
• Demonstrated leader in a matrix organization, able to motivate and inspire local team members to high performance levels
• Good communication, people management and social skills with a good sense of diplomacy both in a scientific and industrial environment
• Adequate knowledge to work with information technology systems and provisional project management tools
• Capable of managing meetings within a multicultural environment and organize expert meetings with key opinion leaders.
